Check out your local K9 unit on the new website Channel Islands Design created for them!

We are proud to launch Ventura Police Department K9's website.

Through this website we give you insight to how fundraising events like the Bark Out Loud fundraiser helps raise money for VPD's K9 Unit.

Did you know that on average the cost to purchase and train a canine is $15,000? That's why fundraising events like Bark Out Loud are critical to the success of our community's K9 unit.

The Ventura Police Department (VPD) has four K9 Teams assigned to Patrol. The K9 Teams are available for deployment seven days a week, providing protection to our community twenty-four hours a day.

The K9 Unit was started over thirty years ago by retired VPD Lieutenant Dave Inglis. The VPD was one of the first agencies in Ventura County to use canines. Currently, all four of our canines are German Shepherds, however, we have used a Rottweiler in the past. Our canines are partners at work and family friends at home.

Check out the website and learn more about the upcoming Bark Out Loud event and also learn how you can help! Just click here http://www.venturapdk9.org/
